The vinegar Cure

·         To keep ants out of your kitchen try washing the countertops, cabinets, and floor with equal parts water and vinegar.

·         To loosen rusty bolts spray straight vinegar on the bolt until it is soaked.

·         To clean film away from bottles on the inside; pour vinegar in the bottle and shake it vigorously.  If the stain persists, add 2 tablespoons of raw rice per ¼ cup of vinegar and shake.

·          To brighten carpets, brush with a mixture of 1 cup vinegar per gallon of water. You can remove nonoil stains with a liquid detergent in 1 pint of lukewarm water. You apply the mixture with a soft brush and rub gently. You rinse the stain with a towel with clean water. Repeat this process until the stain is removed. To dry the spot quickly use a fan or blow-dryer.

·         Remove catsup stains on cotton, permanent press, and polyester by sponging with undiluted vinegar within 24 hours of getting the stain. You then wash the garment immediately

·         You can easily polish chrome an stainless steel with a cloth moistened with vinegar

·         You can help cut flowers last longer by adding to tablespoons of vinegar and 3 tablespoons of sugar per quart of warm (100 degree) water to the vase.

·         You can erase water stains from furniture by rubbing a mixture of equal parts olive oil and vinegar into the wood.  You should rub with the grain. If you are regaling old rungs and joints apply vinegar with some 10W40 to remove the old glue.

·         To clean leather by rubbing equal parts linseed oil and vinegar and rubbing with a soft cloth.
