The World of Cat Toys-

Your cat deserves toys. He deserves and endless supply of live mice to chase and gold fish to retrieve from a gold fish bowl with perfectly tepid water. Ok, now I have extracted my cat from the keyboard I will discuss cat toys in the real world.

Cats love balls. The best balls are ones that do not present choking hazards and can at least stand up to moderate cat chewing. Ping pong balls are good because they are the right size and are usually durable for normal cat play. The sort of flexible plastic balls that are used in children’s ball pits work nicely and are hollow so they are less of a choking hazard.

Yarn with a feather attached is also a hit with most cats. Supervise the play as string can become a strangulation hazard. Try securing different things of the end of the string to keep it interesting. Cut out some foil fish and attach it to the string. Cats enjoy shiny and crinkled things. If your cat eats paper you will want to pick something different.  A stuffed toy mouse might be a good choice.

Remote control mice are a great choice you should let the cat catch the mouse every once in a while so he can feel some kitty pride. Remote control toys tend to not have long lives and many times we forget to replace batteries. Wind up mice is a good alternative and will last a while if you do not over wind them.

Lastly, to keep you cat from camping on top the refrigerator, buy or make them a cat tree or climber.  It is probably safer to buy a professionally made climber, if you are good with design and wood you can make one unique for cat. Placing interesting things on the climber or places where you can hang cat danglers will encourage your cat to use the climber.

Your cat will want you to order them extravagant cat toys. Try to get a paper bag from an exclusive store and you diva cat will be more content when climbing in and out of it.
